Georgia Car Shipping Companies: FMCSA-Verified Brokers & Carriers

Published October 29, 2026

Georgia is a car shipping state in both directions: metro Atlanta is one of the biggest places people move to and from, and a lot of cars pass through the state on their way to Florida. Georgia also has two Atlantic ports, and a big share of the cars they handle are new vehicles moving for dealers rather than household moves, which is worth keeping in mind when you compare quotes. This page lists Georgia-headquartered auto transport carriers and brokers whose federal records checked out on SAFER, with FMCSA data as of 10/27/2026. Every USDOT number below links to the company's live FMCSA record so you can check it yourself.

Being listed here isn't an endorsement. No company can pay to be on this page, and placement never depends on whether we earn a commission. A clean FMCSA record is the minimum, not proof of good service. How we verify.

Georgia by the numbers (FMCSA census)

Georgia auto transport carriers (largest by power units)

Carriers own or run the trucks. We took Georgia-based companies with "auto transport" style names (including "vehicle transport" and "car transport"), Motor Vehicles cargo, and an MC number, took the 40 largest by power units (trucks) in FMCSA's census, and kept every one with at least two power units on SAFER that showed USDOT Status ACTIVE and AUTHORIZED FOR Motor Carrier of Property. Of the 40 we checked, 18 had active USDOT numbers but NOT AUTHORIZED status and one was OUT-OF-SERVICE, so none of those are in this table. One more held broker authority only, and two authorized carriers reported a single power unit; we left all three off, not because of any problem with the companies.

Power units are what each company self-reports to FMCSA, so treat them as approximate. Georgia's list is unusually top-heavy: EXTREME TRANSPORTATION reports 246 trucks, more than ten times the next company, and the rest are small fleets of 2 to 21 trucks. Most of them are in the Atlanta metro (Duluth, Stockbridge, Marietta, Roswell, Cumming, Ellenwood, Covington, Dallas, Carrollton), with the others spread out in Augusta, Commerce, Newnan, Cartersville, Bremen, Ringgold, and Pooler near Savannah. Many carriers haul loads assigned by brokers, so if you book through a broker, ask who will actually pick up your car.

Georgia auto transport brokers (longest-registered)

Brokers arrange the move and assign a carrier. These are Georgia-based companies with "auto transport" style names and an MC number that hold broker authority on SAFER, first registered before 2025, and showed AUTHORIZED FOR Broker of Property. They're listed from oldest registration to newest. Brokers must keep a $75,000 bond or trust fund on file, which you can check on FMCSA's L&I search.

¹ Many older records in FMCSA's census file share a November 2011 add date, so for this company "11/2011" may reflect a records date rather than the year it actually started. SAFER and L&I show the full authority history.

EXTREME TRANSPORTATION INC also holds broker authority, but it already appears in the carrier table above, so it isn't listed twice.

Names appear exactly as FMCSA records them, typos and run-together DBA names included. While building this list, 27 of the 37 Georgia broker registrations we checked showed NOT AUTHORIZED on SAFER even though their USDOT numbers were active; 9 of those were first registered before 2013. One more authorized Georgia broker was first registered in 2026; we left it off this list of longest-registered brokers, but it isn't excluded for any problem. An unauthorized broker can't legally arrange your interstate move, so check before you pay a deposit.

Records worth knowing about

How to use this list

  1. Ask which one you're booking. If you get a quote from a broker, ask in writing for the assigned carrier's name, MC, and USDOT number before pickup, then check that carrier too. Our 5-minute check walks through it.
  2. Match the phone number. FMCSA's fraud guidance suggests confirming phone numbers against SAFER. If the number you were given doesn't match, call the SAFER number and ask.
  3. Check insurance and bond on L&I. SAFER shows authority; FMCSA's Licensing & Insurance site shows the bond (brokers) and liability filing (carriers).
  4. Read the deposit and cancellation terms before you pay. People regularly report losing a deposit after cancelling, even within a few days of booking. Get the cancellation policy in writing, and read how the lowball-quote deposit pattern works.

What this page doesn't cover

We haven't verified insurance amounts, cargo coverage, complaint history, or customer reviews for these companies, so none of that is shown. FMCSA records change daily; if a company's SAFER record no longer matches this table, trust SAFER.

FAQ

How do I check if a Georgia car shipping company is licensed?

Search its USDOT or MC number on FMCSA's free SAFER Company Snapshot. You want USDOT Status ACTIVE and Operating Authority Status AUTHORIZED FOR Broker of Property (for a broker) or Motor Carrier of Property (for a carrier). Companies that arrange or haul cars across state lines must be registered with FMCSA, wherever they're based.

Is a company on this page recommended?

No. This page lists Georgia-headquartered companies that met our selection rules and showed active, authorized FMCSA records on the date we checked. A clean federal record is a minimum, not a recommendation. Check insurance, reviews, and the contract yourself before you book.

Why were so many Georgia brokers left off?

Of the 37 Georgia broker registrations with auto transport style names that we checked on SAFER, 27 had an active USDOT number but showed NOT AUTHORIZED for operating authority. An active USDOT number alone doesn't mean a company can legally broker your interstate move.

The second-biggest Georgia car hauler we found isn't on the list. Why?

LNR AUTO TRANSPORT in Loganville reports 40 power units in FMCSA's census, second only to EXTREME TRANSPORTATION among the Georgia companies our search turned up. On SAFER, its USDOT number is active but its operating authority shows NOT AUTHORIZED, so we left it out. A large fleet number in a census record doesn't prove a company can legally haul for hire across state lines.
